Star-Crossed Lovers (2025)
Star-Crossed Lovers is a digital reinterpretation of The Cowherd and The Weaver Girl story, a celestial Chinese folktale.
The short animations depict the yearning of two lovers condemned to a tragic fate; allowed only to meet once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month (or seventh moon). Looping through different emotional states, the work encapsulates the lovers’ cycle of devotion; the patience of waiting, the anticipation of meeting and the sorrows of departure.
