Emma Pham (b. 1999, Sydney, Australia; lives and works on Dharug and Dharawal lands, South-West Sydney) is an artist whose practice revolves around digital storytelling, memory and Vietnamese spirituality; encouraging a return to her roots. Her practice wrestles with contested histories from an anti-imperial perspective, offering alternative narratives through a digital and material lens. By invoking childhood nostalgia, her work hopes to forge new pathways from the kitschy margins of the internet, local cultures in Western Sydney as well as global histories.
Emma has previously exhibited in Powerhouse Arcadia (2022). Her work has also involved research into Vietnamese spirituality and folklore, culminating in a digital tapestry that was exhibited at Pari (2023) for Open Worlds. She was commissioned by Runway Journal (2023) for Issue 47: MMORPG for a collaborative work combining pixel art with moving image work. She has also activated DIY sticker room workshops for PHIVE’s LNY program (2025), Parramatta Aquatic Centre (2025) and AGNSW’s LNY program (2026). She was a previous artist in residence with Curiousworks (2024-25) as part of their Future Culture program. Emma has been commissioned by the Powerhouse to design the visual identity for Powerhouse Lanes as part of Parramatta Lanes (2025). Recently, she has exhibited new and existing works in group exhibitions at Verge Gallery (2026) and 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art (2026). She is currently a practising studio artist at Parramatta Artist Studios Granville (2025-2026).
